Craftbook is the brainchild of a handful of like minded folk. It’s worth expanding on what ‘like minded’ means in this context: they are still busy collecting records and reminiscing about when things were a bit more special, when things were significant and finite.
An admission from one brave individual turned into a mass confessional: we had all fallen back in love with beer and were not ashamed to admit it. Not the mass produced stuff, but the good stuff, the really good stuff — short run, limited editions, collaborations, seasonal specials.
It wasn’t just the beer that was turning mild mannered Geography teachers into rabid fanboys — it was the label, the lovely sticky art. It turns out that the empty cans were not making their merry way to the recycling as expected. Instead they were hanging around on kitchen sides, being carefully arranged and curated.
With so much beer in the world and so little available space on kitchen worktops (2.43m on average), what to do with all that delightful artwork and all those associated memories. After some deep soul-searching and several barefooted walks in the wilderness, the answer bubbled to the surface — peel off the labels and stick them in a book.
